OFFICIAL NOTICE: The KAD Law Committee is proposing a newly revised Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation (AOI) to replace the current Bylaws and AOI in its entirety to bring both into compliance with state laws and with Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (latest edition) and to provide the following key improvements:

  • Language Modernization

  • Operational Enhancement

  • Governance Strengthening

  • Cultural Alignment

  • Organizational Effectiveness

 

To save members time at the June 21, 2025 General Business Meeting, voting members are encouraged to join one of the two live streamed zoom meetings hosted by Law Committee Chairperson Chris Haulmark to explain the differences between the 2023 Bylaws, 2019 AOI and the proposed 2025 Bylaws/AOI:

Voting members may submit written or ASLized Amendments to the proposed revised 2025 Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation to the Law Committee Chairperson Chris.Haulmark@deafkansas.org. 

 

Deadline to submit amendments is April 21, 2025, sixty (60) days before the GBM on June 21, 2025. Any additional amendments to the Bylaws or AOI after April 21st will not be accepted or considered until the next amendments submissions due date for the 2027 GBM.

 

After the Law Committee reviews all submissions, the final proposed amended revised Bylaws and AOI will be shared with the members by May 21, 2025, thirty (30) days before the GBM on June 21, 2025 to be considered for a vote.
